Is this a good offer?

The UOB PRVI Miles card makes all the right headlines and may appear as a great miles card to newbies, at first glance. However, comparing against other good cards for general and foreign currency spending, cardholders who are unaware may find some nasty surprises hidden in the T&Cs:

❌ 3.25% foreign currency fee
❌ Higher-than-usual annual fee (S$261.60)
❌ Annual fee payments do not come with any miles (except AMEX version)
❌ Miles expire after 2 years
❌ Only 2 transfer partners (with lengthy transfer duration to Asia Miles)
❌ S$5 earning blocks (you get zero miles for all transactions under S$5)

With that out of the way, the PRVI Miles card can be useful for occasional promos like this one, but only if you’re spending at least S$1,500 on overseas dining and shopping, and have maxed out other better cards below (which are also useful for other spending categories).
