What counts as a ‘stay’?
A ‘stay’ is defined as one or more consecutive nights spent at the same hotel.
There seems to be a lot of confusion among travellers who are new to hotel loyalty programs, so, allow me to share some examples that should clear all your doubts:
Example 1: Making 2 bookings at the same hotel, with back-to-back dates
Say you booked a 1-night stay at Hotel A and decided to extend the stay by booking another 1-night stay. Because the nights spent in the same hotel are consecutive, it will only count as 1 stay, even if you physically check out and check back in a few hours later.
Example 2: Making 2 bookings at the different hotels, with back-to-back dates
Say you booked a 1-night stay at Hotel A. Immediately after checking out from Hotel A, you then decided to book a night at Hotel B. Because you are not spending consecutive nights in the same hotel, it will count as 2 stays.
Example 3: Making 2 bookings at the same hotel, without back-to-back dates
Say you booked a 1-night stay at Hotel A on 1st June and checked out on 2nd June. You then booked another stay in the same hotel on 3rd June and checked out on 4th June. Because the nights in the same hotel are not consecutive (you slept elsewhere on the night of 2nd June), it will count as 2 stays.
Example 4: Making 2 bookings at different hotels, on the same night
Say you booked a 1-night stay at Hotel A on 1st June, and made another booking at Hotel B on the same day. Because there is no way that a member can sleep in 2 beds at the same time, the system will automatically count your bookings as 1 stay.
Is this a good promotion?
Unlike other hotel loyalty programs like World of Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors tend to run their global promotions back-to-back, but not this time. There will be a 1 month gap between the previous promo (ended on 30 Apr) and this one (starting on 1 Jun).
Fixed-points promotions like these are more rewarding on cheaper and shorter stays, as the amount of bonus points are applied on a per-stay basis, regardless of how much you spend and the amount of nights at the property.
Due to ever-increasing award rates across most Hilton properties, I value Hilton points at just 0.3 cents (USD) each. At this valuation, I’d receive US$3 worth of bonus points (1,000) on my Hilton stays during this promo period; probably the worst Hilton global promo that I’ve seen in years.
Terms and conditions
Hilton Honors shared the following terms and conditions for this promo:
Offer valid for stays completed June 1 – August 15, 2025 (“promotion period”) at any hotel or resort within the Hilton Portfolio. Hilton Honors™ members must first register at HiltonHonors.com/PointsPlus prior to completing a stay within the promotion period.
Registered Hilton Honors members will earn 1,000 Bonus Points per stay during the promotion period.
Registered Hilton Honors members checking in before June 1, 2025, will receive Bonus Points for their stay if the stay is completed on or after June 1, 2025, and prior to or on August 15, 2025.
There is no limit to the total number of Bonus Points that may be earned during the promotion period with this offer. However, there are restrictions on the number of Base Points that can be earned on a single stay at certain brands.

If I already have a reservation, is it eligible for the promotion?
Yes, as long as the member is registered for the promotion prior to check-out of the stay and the reservation is for an eligible stay. Regardless of when a reservation was booked, any registered guests with nights within the Promotion Period will receive the promotion bonus.
If I check-in before June 1, 2025, or check-out after August 15, 2025, do I still earn credit for that stay?
Registered members checking in before June 1, 2025 will receive credit for their stay if the stay is completed on or after June 1, 2025 and prior to or on August 15, 2025. If a member starts a stay in the middle of the promotion period and check-out after August 15, 2025 a member will not receive the bonus.
Will I receive Bonus Points with the Points Plus Promotion for any stays within the promotion period that I completed PRIOR to registering for the promotion?
No. Only members registered prior to check-out will receive Bonus Points with the Points Plus Promotion.
