What benefits to expect when you stay at Delta Hotels by Marriott Xi’an as a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum or Titanium Elite member?

The property opened in 2023 with a total of 282 guest rooms.

From my observations, Marriott hotels in Xi’an tend to reduce their typical nightly rates by about 50%, within a month from the stay date. I monitored the nightly rates and rebooked my flexible rate whenever it drops.

Location

It was challenging to find out about the property’s surroundings before arriving. I only chose this hotel after reading a TripAdvisor review that mentioned its proximity to a subway station and a modern mall with great dining options.

  • 5 mins walk to Longshouyuan subway station
  • 10 mins train to downtown Xi’an (2 stops)
  • 10 mins walk to InCity Mall
  • 30 mins to Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (XIY)

Arrival

We arrived by car from the airport, and were assisted with our luggages.

Entrance and drop-off area

The receptionist mentioned that the hotel was at high occupancy that day, with all suites fully booked. Nonetheless, I was upgraded to an Executive King room on a high floor.

Executive King Room

This room type is 35sqm (377sqft) in size; same size as the base rooms.

As the smallest room in the hotel, it was pretty huge. It had modern furnishing, something you’d expect from a hotel built in 2023.

Platinum members and above can choose one welcome amenity when staying at the property:

  • 1,000 Marriott points
  • Local gift: Tea and painting set

This was one of the rare occasions when I chose a local gift instead of points!

Breakfast

Breakfast was complimentary for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above, and it was held as a buffet at Seek restaurant. Guests can also get made-to-order noodles.

Food quality was good for a hotel at this price point.

Executive Lounge

Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above get access to the Executive Lounge.

The evening cocktail spread was pretty good for a hotel at this price point, serving more as a light dinner rather than pre-dinner canapés.

Bottom line

We enjoyed our stay at Delta Hotels Xi’an and felt it was the right choice compared to other options at a similar price point, such as the Moxy and two (old) Sheratons.

Be sure to check the nightly rates before booking, as prices tend to drop closer to the stay date.
