Qatar Airways is running an offer for credit card miles/points conversion to its frequent flyer program, Privilege Club.
I shared a little heads-up in Suitesmile Chat, a couple of days back.
Key points to note
- Get uncapped 25% bonus Avios when you convert credit card miles/points
- Get 10k additional bonus Avios for every 100k Avios converted in a single transaction (convert 100k, get 25k + 10k)
- No registration required
- Offer is valid for miles/points conversions from 1 to 31 Oct 2024
- Bonus Avios will be credited by 15 Nov 2024
- In Singapore, miles/points from Citibank and HSBC cards can be transferred to Qatar Airways Privilege Club (but remember that HSBC has a poor transfer ratio)

Best ways to redeem Avios
In my experience, Qatar Airways sets the standard when it comes to Business Class travel; offering great seats, airport lounges, food and overall Business Class experience.
Additional note: Qatar Airways does not pass on fuel surcharges for award bookings on its own flights, however, the airline charges an additional booking fee per segment. This means that, if you’re flying to Europe in Business Class, you will be paying around S$350 each way (2 segments).

Avios are good for the following redemptions for Qatar Airways flights:

Singapore โ US/Canada (via Hong Kong) | Business | Cathay Pacific | 60,000 (via Finnair Plus) | 55,555 (via Finnair Plus) |

Doha โ London | First | Qatar Airways | 51,600 | 47,778 |
Should you convert credit card miles/points to Avios?
The usual rule-of-thumb applies: ONLY convert your miles/points if you have plans to use them in the near future.
If you already have plans to fly in the above-mentioned routes in the coming months, this is a no-brainer. Be sure to check for award availability on qatarairways.com, ba.com and finnair.com before committing.
Also, remember that Qatar Airways Avios can also be transferred freely to British Airways Executive Club and Finnair Plus at a 1:1 ratio.
Best Citibank Miles credit cards
Citibank’s miles/rewards cards offer fantastic flexibility, and should be prioritized over those from other banks, especially where the earn rates are similar.

Previous Privilege Club Transfer Bonuses
No intention on travelling to one of the above-mentioned routes in the coming months? Please don’t feel like you’re missing out. Keep your fingers crossed for another transfer bonus around May/June 2025.
Here are the historical transfer bonuses offered by Qatar Airways Privilege Club:
Month & Year | Transfer Bonus |
---|---|
Oct 2024 (new) | 25% – 35% |
May 2024 | 30% |
Nov 2023 | 30% |
Jun 2023 | 30% |
Nov 2022 | 30% |
Jun 2022 | 40% |
Oct 2021 | 20% |
Bottom line
Qatar Airways is offering members up to 35% bonus Avios on credit card miles/points conversions. If you’ve been earning flexible miles like I do, this is your time to shine.
With this deal, a roundtrip Business Class flight booking to Europe is cheaper than what it costs to fly one-way, with KrisFlyer miles. And, for fewer miles than what KrisFlyer requires to fly to Kuala Lumpur, you can fly as far as Hong Kong.
There’s definitely insane value to be had, if you can find award availability on your preferred dates (use this method). Can’t find award availability to/from Helsinki? Start or end your journey in Bangkok, to find loads of Finnair Business Class award availability.
Be sure to initiate your transfers early, so that you will not miss out on the bonus if there are any delays with the conversion. As this offer is ending on the 31st of October, I recommend initiating the conversion by the 15th of October, to be extra safe.
