What benefits to expect when you stay at Moxy Putrajaya as a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum or Titanium Elite member?

The property opened in February 2024 with a total of 480 guest rooms.

This property is a Marriott Bonvoy award sweet spot. Purchasing and redeeming Marriott points is often cheaper than paying the cash rate. To make the deal even sweeter, there was a PointSavers deal when I booked the stay.

Arrival

As we arrived by car, we dropped off our luggages to a hotel staff, and were allowed to temporarily park at the drop-off area to complete the check in process.

Parking is free for all guests. As the basement parking area is shared with the mall, there is a special gantry for Moxy hotel guests, where a camera auto-reads the vehicle’s licence plate to determine if it’s been registered.

However, it failed to read mine correctly, twice; the letter ‘N’ was read as ‘H’. Thankfully, there was a parking attendant nearby to override the system.

We happened to stay on a local public holiday, and the hotel was near full occupancy. The hotel had upgraded my room by a category, to a similarly-sized one with a view of the Golf Course.

Queen Golf View Room

This room type is 22sqm (237sqft) in size.

The room was quite small but well-furnished. I didn’t mind the size for a short stay without full-sized luggage, though it might feel uncomfortable for longer stays or with more baggage.

Breakfast

Breakfast was complimentary for Platinum members and above, and it was held as a buffet at Three.6.5 restaurant. Guests can also get made-to-order noodles, toasts and eggs.

For a hotel at this (award) price point, I was impressed by the variety and quality of the breakfast buffet spread.

Bottom line

The new Moxy Putrajaya is a solid Marriott Bonvoy property. Depending on what you’re in the area for, having a giant mall next door can be really convenient.

As of the time of writing, the hotel is pricey when paying in cash (~400 MYR), and undervalued when staying on points (~5.5k points). Depending on the Marriott points sale, 5.5k points cost around 198 to 228 MYR to purchase; what a difference! And that’s before factoring in the possible Fifth Night Free savings.

I don’t see the low award rate lasting very long. Take advantage of this Marriott sweet spot while you can!
