Arrival
Upon arrival, we were assisted with our luggages before being directed to the reception.
I’d booked the Cozy room (base room) and was upgraded to the Marvelous Suite, as a Titanium member, a couple of days before my stay. That’s a 4-category upgrade!
I’d requested for a 4pm check out the next day, and it was confirmed during the check in process.
The suite wasn’t ready when we arrived (at 2pm), and the hotel was really kind to offer a couple of complimentary drinks at the bar, while we wait for the suite to be ready!
Marvelous Suite
The Marvelous Suite is 80 sqm / 861sqft in size.
The room has modern furnishing with an amazing city view.
However, I felt that this was the least “quirky” W room that I’ve stayed in. Looking at the other rooms in this hotel confirmed my initial thought. For a new-ish W hotel, I would consider them a touch boring, like most W hotels in North America.
I did not receive any welcome amenity during this stay.
Internet speed
The WiFi speed was very good during my stay.
Breakfast
Platinum members and above receive complimentary breakfast at Oh.lala… restaurant.
Food quality from the small buffet was good, and there was a made-to-order egg and ramen station.

My ratings
This is how I am rating my stay, after considering what I paid:
Breakfast | 8/10 | Club lounge | – |
Service | 10/10 | Peace & quiet | 10/10 |
Location | 9/10 | Facilities | 10/10 |

Bottom line
It was a fun stay in Japan’s one-and-only W hotel; the generous upgrade and 4pm check out definitely helped!
However, I felt the hotel played it safe, when it comes to the overall design and furnishing of the rooms.
