Planning a stay at W Singapore? Use the Priceline hack

There is no cheaper way to book publicly available rates at this hotel other than using the Priceline hack that I have shared a few months ago. With this hack, you will be paying as low as $285++ ($369 nett) instead of $391 on marriott.com.

Key steps

1) Search flexible dates on marriott.com for a calendar view of the lowest rates. As of today, the lowest rate is $333++.

2) Visit priceline.com and search for hotels in Singapore on that date and narrow down the results by selecting “Sentosa Island” neighborhood.

3) There will only be about 11 results. Scroll through them and look for a listing labelled as “5-Star Hotel”. This is an Express Deal (explained in my Priceline hack guide). There are very obvious clues that this is W Singapore (e.g. usual price, room types, amenities).

Disadvantages

You are booking the absolute cheapest rate at this hotel. Of course there’s a catch.

  1. Non-refundable, no changes allowed

  2. Express Deals for W Singapore can only be found for dates at least 1 month ahead

  3. No Marriott Bonvoy member benefits

  4. No breakfast options at booking. You may pay for it separately during your stay.

To summarise, your dates have to be final. If you are not a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member or above, there are not many member benefits anyway. There will not be any breakfast buffet because of the COVID-19 situation that we are in right now. Nothing much lost in the last point either.

Conclusion

$369 all-in is a good rate at this Sentosa Cove hotel and knowing that you are paying the lowest rate is great. It is still early days as only 5 hotels are in the approved list. We are not sure if there will be good staycation deals from other local hotels in the coming weeks. I will be posting only noteworthy deals, as usual.

  1. Heya, thx for the article!
Trying it out myself, what makes it not sofitel? Other then not being on STB approved list yet.

W Singapore vs Sofitel (known identity pages) on a certain day in September
-Reviews: 973 vs 824 – do they only round the 1st digit?
    -Guest Rating 8.7 vs 8.1
-Price was $280 > $212 vs $294 – do we use the final price in green?
-Room and amenities look roughly the same

    Express deal = 8+ guest review, 900 reviews, was $296 > $228 (23% off)
Im guessing it cant be sofitel as the express deal is more expensive, and reviews number would instead be 800?
    Hence that leaves W singapore?
    Cheers.

    • Hi JD,

The number of reviews in an Express Deal is usually not rounded up. I can’t compare the prices that you mentioned as I do not know which exact date you are finding those rates from. The biggest giveaway is the "before" prices of the rooms listed in the Express Deal.

      Hope that helped!
