Best General Spending Credit Cards in Singapore (Miles vs Cashback)

Note: This page only lists the best credit cards for spending in Singapore Dollars. View the best cards for Foreign Currency spending, which is a different ball game altogether due to hefty credit card FX fees.

At a glance: Best General Spending credit cards

Choose from a number of great miles and cashback credit cards for general spending in Singapore Dollars to earn up to 1.68 miles per dollar or 2% cashback.

Top Miles credit card for General Spending

With increasing award rates on many frequent flyer programs, it is no longer a good idea to receive low earn rates (under 2 mpd) on your spending. Unless you consistently spend over S$15,000/month, you’d take forever to accumulate enough miles for a meaningful redemption.

Consider general spending Miles credit cards only when you’ve maxed out the monthly caps on stronger 4 mpd credit cards. For maximum miles flexibility, use the Citi PremierMiles or Citi Prestige cards, even if the earn rates are a little bit lower.

⚠️ Don’t be blinded by miles; they are not priceless. If you’re not able to earn 4 mpd on your spending, it’s probably best to consider easy-to-use cashback credit cards or just take the 2% cashback offered by the best general spending cashback card.

Top Cashback credit card for General Spending

The DCS Ultimate Platinum Mastercard is the best general spending cashback credit card, giving you 2% cashback up to S$10,000/month. Beyond this amount, use the UOB Absolute Cashback Card for 1.7% cashback (if the merchant accepts AMEX cards) or other cards that offer 1.6% cashback.

Best General Spending Miles credit cards

Have you maxed out the bonus limits on specialized Miles credit cards? These are your last-resort options to receive lower but uncapped earn rates on almost everything.

These general spending miles credit cards are also good for payment facilities like CardUp and Citi PayAll.
