Suitesmile is a Singapore-based travel hacking website, founded by Fairuz Sallim (better known as Fai) in 2019. I know, that’s probably the worst time to start a travel website, right before the global pandemic! But Suitesmile survived. 😊
Mission Statement
The ultimate goal of Suitesmile is to provide reliable, 100% free and easy-to-understand guides, tips, tricks and hacks related to:

- Flight and Hotel deals (especially non-mainstream ones, including error fares)
- Credit cards perks and benefits (miles and cashback)
- Credit card sign up bonuses
Travel hacking and credit cards can be overwhelming, with complicated terms and conditions often designed to be confusing. Our commitment is to cut through the noise by simplifying the fine print and providing clear and honest analysis.
About Fai, the Founder of Suitesmile
I was born and raised in Singapore in the late 1980s. Upon completing my National Service and studies, I started a wedding photography business from scratch in 2007, during a transitional era from film to digital photography.
Running the business for over a decade taught me valuable lessons in financial management and strategic spending. These skills came in handy when I started diving into credit card rewards and figuring out the complicated terms and conditions from the 90+ credit cards that I’ve benefited from over the years (and I’m proud to say I’ve never missed a payment!).
I took my first flight when I was 14, through the National Cadet Corps (NCC), my co-curricular activity in school. It was a short flight around Singapore in a Republic of Singapore Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules, but the experience remained fresh in my memory.
It wasn’t until my late 20s that I had the means to travel outside Southeast Asia, and I only really got into credit card miles and points in 2015, when I had an epiphany; all my spending could have turned into almost-free luxury travel! That same day, I visited an IT fair and signed up for my first credit cards from 5 different banks to profit from all the sign-up promos in the forms of cash, vouchers and luggages.
What’s disturbing was the credit card promoters’ lack of transparency about the cards’ features, and how time-consuming it was to read through lengthy terms and conditions.
I’ve spent the past decade diving deep into the world of miles and points, a journey that has taken me to over 50 countries and allowed me to fly in more than 30 different long-haul premium cabins.
My ultimate goal is to share that knowledge with you, at no cost. As I’ve been, and still am, the only writer at Suitesmile, you can be sure that every guide and review comes from real-world, tested experience.
